This is a space for Black people, indigenous people and people of colour to heal - please respect this 🌸
To “re-member” is to put back together, to make whole. This is a space for us to remember the climate harm of past and present. Collective, embodied rituals are a powerful practice that can reshape our sense of where we have been, where we are, and where we can go.
This event is a time and place for us to come together and reconnect: by using ritual to bring our bodies and hearts into healing, as part of our work towards reparative justice. .
Indigenous Peoples, Black and people of colour communities, those who have been and continue to be colonised, have been “interrupted”. This means that the end output of the barbaric practice of colonisation is Peoples being interrupted from being.
So we reconnect.
We reconnect by:
Being in connection with our languages
Being in connection with our food
Being in connection with our Ancestors and human Kin
Being in connection with the Land and all non human Kin
The reconnection is our “work” - being able to start from where we are right now and move forward towards healing. This space will bring in and amplify voices from the most affected people and places - bringing us in connection to each other’s and the UK’s role in climate harm
Through healing and joy and mourning - this event will be a way for us to honestly remember and repair on Remembrance Sunday.
